Welcome to Scott Allen's Musky Fishing Guide Service

Fishing the Chippewa Flowage & Hayward Lakes Area of Wisconsin

My name is Scott Allen and I guide exclusively for muskies.  I live on the legendary Chippewa Flowage, and it's literally my back yard.  I am one of just two musky guides who actually live on the Flowage.  I fish for muskies nearly every day of the season from opening day until the lakes freeze solid. I began fishing the Chippewa Flowage in 1974. Over the last 48 years, I have fished and guided on many of the lakes in the Hayward and Winter, Wisconsin areas, as well as select lakes in Minnesota; however, my home water is the famed Chippewa Flowage near Hayward.

Many hundreds of muskies have visited my net, as well as more than one hundred muskies from 47 to 54+ inches from the Chippewa Flowage and other waters my clients and I fish.  Over the years, I developed strategies for each month of the season, centered around peak activity of the Chippewa Flowage and the other lakes that I fish and guide on.  My nearly five decades of muskie fishing experience enables me to come up with a plan to determine where to fish based on a variety of factors, such as weather, moon phases, majors/minors, fishing pressure and muskie location patterns.  Basically, we will be fishing the spots that will give us the best opportunity to connect with the most big muskies.

I have shared my boat with everyone from beginners to highly experienced muskie anglers.  I have helped beginners to become very good muskie anglers, and I have assisted experienced muskie anglers with increasing their knowledge and refining their techniques to make them even better muskie anglers.  In fact, several of the Hayward-area muskie guides learned how to muskie fish from me, and now they are very good guides.  I will teach you just as I taught them.  I have guided many people to their very first muskies, and I have guided many highly experienced muskie anglers to their very largest muskies ever.

Regardless of whether you're a beginner or an experienced muskie angler, while on the water with me you'll learn a lot about effective techniques, productive muskie spots, and the idiosyncrasies of the lake we are fishing.  The waters I fish include my home waters of the famed and beautiful Chippewa Flowage, as well as other Hayward area lakes and a few Minnesota lakes.  For a description of the lakes I fish, click on the "Waters I Guide On" tab above.

Most of the lakes I fish and guide on provide an above average chance of having action from muskies that range from the mid-40 inch range and above.  Muskies of 50-inches and up are possible on many of the lakes I fish and guide on.  In fact, a few lucky anglers have experienced the muskie outtings of their dreams with me.  For example, we have had the good fortune of boating
three 50+ inch muskies on the same day on three different occasions!  Join me and let's make it four! Check out my testimonials and visit my photos page.

Depending on if you're wanting action from numerous muskies or that chance at an elusive trophy muskie of your dreams, I will do my best to put you in the right spot at the right time using the most productive methods.  Give me a call and book your guide day.
